About The Plantation
Starting as a family’s dream to relocate to the Eastern Cape, The Plantation was Port Elizabeth’s first custom built all-in-one wedding venue. Since opening its doors in 2006, the passion and attention to detail from the owner-managed family business has led to The Plantation having been repeatedly awarded as one of South Africa’s top wedding and event venues.
The Plantation acquired a second venue, The Boma, in 2010. The Boma is located next door to The Plantation and is a more informal venue offering potjies and spitbraais, perfect for outdoor events such as milestone birthday parties, forest weddings and corporate events.
In 2018, The Plantation added a third venue to its collection – 39 on Church Guest House and Conference Centre. Centrally located in Walmer, 39 on Church offers superb accommodation for business and leisure travellers and The Plantation and The Boma event guests. It also has a conference centre with two fully equipped conference rooms.
